3-Day Weekends Make All the Difference
For Production Coordinator Reese, Robinson’s four-day workweek isn’t just a schedule – it’s a lifestyle advantage that sets the company apart.
“You get an extra 52 days of vacation here, essentially! That’s what I tell everybody. I’d rather get my week done in four days and have the free day. It opens up a lot of things for me in my personal life.”
This flexibility is just one aspect of what makes Robinson special for Reese, who joined the company six years ago after a friend’s recommendation. Making the career switch from carpentry to manufacturing, he quickly found his path to leadership, moving from assembler to team coordinator, overseeing 15-18 people across first and second shifts.
Reese appreciates the autonomy to lead, combined with strong support.
“My management group allows me to kind of take things and run with them. I enjoy being able to manage my crew and my projects as I see fit. But if I have any issues or need any help with anything, there’s always an extensive group of people who are willing to help.”
This collaborative culture extends beyond individual departments.
“Everybody’s willing to help to get the task done, unlike places where everybody’s for themselves. Everybody here has always been very ‘Robinson first.’”
As an employee-owner through Robinson’s ESOP program, Reese sees direct value in this kind of culture.
“You have more pride coming to work and doing what needs to get done, knowing that you’re getting a piece of that.”
He’s noticed this pride grows stronger as employees see their accounts increase.
“It starts to resonate when they start to see the dollars!”
Working on complex projects like exhaust skids and systems keeps the work interesting and challenging. Contrary to some perceptions, Reese emphasizes that the work is far from repetitive:
“Especially if you apply yourself, there are a lot of different things you can do. As long as you make an effort, there are so many things you can be doing that you’re not gonna feel like you’re doing the same thing every day.”
His advice to those considering Robinson is clear:
“It’s definitely one of the better places in the area to work. Being such a big company, growing as we are, there’s so much room for growth.”
