Palletizing equipment offers case and pattern flexibility

Product Handling Concepts designs custom palletizing equipment

As the world of palletizing equipment focuses on high-speed machines capable of performing a limited number of standard configurations, Product Handling Concepts (PHC) fills a niche by providing the necessary engineering expertise to expand functionality and enhance traffic management.

PHC, a division of Robinson Metal, Inc., designs equipment including automated process devices and other complementary equipment for a complete customized solution to product handling needs. Palletizing equipment provides the ability to maximize speeds for varying production cycles.

“Our ability to custom-engineer many of the complementary systems needed to support the equipment is a major benefit for our customers,”says Jim Livermore, PHC sales manager. “From pallet-stacking devices to conveyors that feed into and out of the palletizer, our value comes in engineering the whole system rather than just the palletizer itself.”

Palletizing equipment that can adjust to new configurations

Equipment from Product Handling Concepts offers programming capabilities that can be adjusted to handle a variety of pallet patterns, case sizes and rates. The adjustability is a significant difference from mechanical palletizers.

Palletizing equipment can be reprogrammed to fit new configurations as companies change their product lines or pallet requirements. The PHC engineering team works collaboratively with customer engineering teams as well as third-party engineering teams as needed.

“We do not build standardized palletizing equipment because our customers come to us for custom jobs,”Livermore explains. “We specialize in product handling systems and palletizing equipment that require a customized solution.”
